Hate crime
Hate Crime Awareness week takes place from 1-7th February 2021. We have an opportunity for organisations to apply for grants to hold events and activities during the week. The deadline for applications is midday Thursday 12th November. For more information on how to apply please click here
Hate crime has no place in Greater Manchester. Everyone has the right to feel safe and we all have a responsibility to stand against hatred and discrimination. #WeStandTogether
No hate crime is acceptable. We all have a right to live without fear, hostility and intimidation from others because of who we are.
· You can report hate crime as follows:
- to the police by calling 101
- via the True Vision website – www.report-it.org.uk
- a hate crime reporting centre – see www.letsendhatecrime.com for details of where they are located
Internet Safety
Hateful and malicious material posted on social media and the internet can damage community cohesion and create fear. As a Partnership we work alongside communities and the internet industry to reduce the harm caused by hate online Messages and material based on hatred can be upsetting and offensive and leave victims and communities in fear. The True Vision website has guidance on staying safe online and what you can do about offensive material. You can also report if you have been a victim of hate crime.
