Safety Advice for Students

In Manchester we have a 'Manchester Student Partnership' which incorporates; the University of Manchester, Manchester Metropolitan University, Greater Manchester Police and Manchester City Council.  The following documents  will give you some advice about how to be great neighbours who make a positive contribution to their local community and our city's culture.  Click here  for information about how the partnership works.

We have also prepared some advice about 'Noise Nuisance'.  This leaflet contains advice and information on 'what to do if you are causing a nuisance' or 'what to do if you are suffering from noise nuisance'.  Click here for further advice.

Manchester is a great place to be a student, but like any city with a large student population, it can unfortunately attract criminals.

Why students?

Most students have technology at their fingertips and carry portable, expensive items such as mobile phones, iPads, tablets and laptops. Student houses can also be full of electrical goods that are attractive to thieves, and you may be lucky enough to own a bike or a car.
