ADVICE FOR RIDERS

What type of bike have you got?
Bikes build for the road
To ride a bike on the road it must be especially built for road use. As the rider you have to be over 16 and you will need:
  1. Registration documents
  2. MOT
  3. Road tax
  4. Insurance
  5. An approved crash helmet

If you have a motorbike built for road use and the items listed above, you can ride it on the roads but NOWHERE ELSE

Off Road bikes
When we talk about “off-road bikes” we mean:
  1. Quadbikes
  2. Moto cross, trial and enduro bikes
  3. Electric scooters
  4. Buzzboards and go-peds

If you have an off-road motorbike, you cannot ride it around your neighbourhood or in your local park.  In fact, there are NO legitimate areas in Manchester for you to ride your off-road bike.

Police Powers
If you ride a bike off-road in Manchester you run the risk of:

  1. Having your bike seized and crushed
  2. Paying a recovery fee of £105, plus a storage fee of £12 per day
  3. Getting an Anti Social Behaviour Order and the publicity that goes with it.
  4. Being disqualified from driving
  5. Being imprisoned
  6. Causing serious injury to yourself or others
