| The Crime and Disorder Team is a multi-agency
team based in the Town Hall, including members from Manchester
City Council, National Probation Service and Greater Manchester
Police. The team supports the overall work of the Crime and Disorder
Reduction Partnership, through ensuring that its work is undertaken
and carried out to the satisfaction of the partnership at large,
and is consistent with the strategic priorities that the partnership
is working to achieve.
In addition to working towards reducing the ten key crimes identfied
in the Crime and Disorder Reduction Strategy, the team also performs
such tasks as:
- Advising and supporting the Executive Partnership Group (EPG)
- Supporting the Sub-divisional Partnerships and Local Action

- Identifying and sharing best practice in crime reduction
across the city
- Undertaking annual audits of crime and disorder
- Researching, analysing and interpreting crime data
- Consulting on crime and disorder issues
- Writing, publishing and publicising the Crime and Disorder
Reduction Strategy (link to strategy)
- Promoting awareness of crime and disorder reduction initiatives
- Identifying sources of funding for crime and disorder reduction
initiatives
