The Alcohol Strategy for 2008 - 2011 aims to identify the problems and challenges alcohol misuse presents to the City of Manchester for individuals, families, and communities. It will also suggest how we can best address these challenges. The Manchester Drug & Alcohol Strategy Team has written the draft Strategy in consultation with the Primary Care Trust, Greater Manchester Police, and the Licensing Team, and it is designed specifically so that you can have your say. The aim of the consultation process is to inform the public of what the draft Strategy says, to encourage discussion and debate of its contents, and to offer an opportunity to shape the final Strategy.

By taking into account other people's views and opinions, the Strategy will be better able to respond to the diverse range of issues that need to be addressed in the city, and by getting involved in this consultation, you have the opportunity to shape how we tackle alcohol misuse together over the next three years. We look forward to receiving your comments and views on the ideas we have set out. Please email any comments you may have to dast@manchester.gov.uk
